Submit IP address info | Look up info about an IP address
First, what is an I.P. address?
An I.P. (Internet Protocol) address is a code given to every computer that accesses the Internet.
There are many reasons to find out where a computer really is based on its I.P. address. If someone sends you an email claiming to be writing from a certain city, you can find out if this person is being honest. If your firewall (a computer program that protects you from invasions over the Internet) reports that a computer is trying to break into your computer, it can be useful to know everything you possibly can about the hacker involved.
...Just some of the ways you can use IPTwister.
It all starts with you.
When you submit an I.P. address, you enter the country, state/province, city/town/village, and, optionally but recommended, the street, house number, and name of the family, company, or person who owns that I.P. address. If you know the I.S.P. (Internet Service Provider) associated with that IP address, you can enter that as well.
Providing this information can even save lives, keeping predators at bay, and hackers watching their back.
[Check the owner, provider, or location of an I.P. address, other information, now.]
[Submit your I.P. address or the I.P. address of someone you know, such as a friend, relative, acquaintance, or coworker.]
How to find out someone's IP address when using email: click Options, then Mail, then Mail Display Settings, then under Message Headers select Full. When you open an email, the sender's IP address will be shown as a code with four sets of digits, each set separated by a dot (.)
